Adult Coloring Book

Title: Owls Coloring Book
Author: Marjorie Sarnat
Series: Creative Haven Coloring Books
Publisher: Dover Publications
Publication Date: July 15, 2015
Source: Purchased
Rating: 5 stars

You don't have to be a huge fan of owls to enjoy this coloring book. You will find that there are 31 different highly detailed owl designs to get lost in.  Some of the designs have more detail than others, but each one is unique in its own special way.  No two designs are any where close to being the same.

Each design takes up the page and is single sided.  Being single sided is fantastic if you are a fan of coloring with marker.  The paper does seem to have some thickness to it, but to be on the safe side I would recommend placing a separate sheet between the designs in case markers decide to bleed through.  That way the design on the following page will not get ruined.

What is also really nice about this coloring book is that each page is perforated.  This will allow you to remove any design you wish with ease.  This feature will allow you to display your work once you have completed it without the worry of ruining it.

This adult coloring book is sure to give hours of enjoyment.

Crochet

Title: Baby Crochet Design: Hats and Boots
Author: Graziana Materassi
Series: Dover Knitting, Crochet, Tatting, Lace
Publisher: Dover Publication
Publication Date: October 21, 2015
Source: Netgalley
Rating: 5 stars

The designs in this book are beyond cute!  There were designs for animals, bugs, flowers, and fruits.  Each design was cuter than the next!  I especially liked the Bumble Bee and the Pineapple designs.

What makes this book even better is it is not just for hats.  There are also designs for booties!  They are all absolutely adorable, but I really liked the strawberry ones!

The book also teaches you how to make little details such as flowers, eyes, and creatures.  This is great because you can then take these patterns and apply them to other projects.  You could add a few lady bugs to a blanket to give it that something more if you want.  Really the possibilities are endless with this.

The title does have the word baby in it, but there is a place in the book where it tells you how to make the hats for other ages as well.  This makes the book very versatile.  You can make hats for babies, toddlers, kids, and even adults.

The directions are easy to follow.  However, if you are just starting with crocheting it may take you a little longer to pick them up.

You get a lot with this book.  Don't pass it up!

Title: Spectacular Nail Art: A Step-by-Step Guide to 35 Gorgeous Designs
Author: Larit Levy
Series: Stand Alone
Publisher: Imagine
Publication Date: September 2, 2014
Source: Netgalley
Rating: 5 Stars

I don't know about you, but I tend to look at nail art designs on Pinterest.  However, that is all I tend to do is just look and wish I could do them.  I am rather jealous of those that can.

This book teaches you how to do 35 different designs.  And all of them are fantastic.  What is even better, is that I am sure that you can take some of the techniques that this book teaches you for one design and apply them to make one that isn't even in the book!  This makes your nail art options practically endless!

I really like how each design is set up with easy to follow steps.  Then each step has a picture with it so you know what that step is supposed to look like.  That is so much easier to follow than written word alone when you are trying to duplicate some form of technique.  Each design also comes with a photo of what the completed design should look like.

Super easy to follow with great directions.  This is one for anyone who likes to do something to snazzy to their nails, even if it is only once in a while!
